Job Summary

Job Description

The Project Manager Transmission will oversee direct and coordinate all aspects of work related to overhead transmission projects. This role carries full responsibility for project delivery including financial performance schedule adherence and stakeholder satisfaction.

The Project Manager will establish and maintain strong relationships with clients subcontractors regulatory agencies and internal teams while driving repeat business and supporting business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from concept through completion including siting environmental and permitting activities planning estimating engineering right-of-way acquisition project controls procurement construction management and project closeout.

  • Develop and maintain client relationships pursue new opportunities and contribute to business growth strategies.

  • Lead proposal development support presentations and participate in contract negotiations.

  • Manage scope schedule and budget while maintaining profitability and ensuring quality delivery.

  • Oversee project financials staffing risk management change management and legal coordination.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all client and project communications ensuring consistent coordination and reporting.

  • Implement project policies procedures and controls in line with organizational standards.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams supporting professional development and team growth.

  • Prepare regular progress reports covering cost schedule procurement safety and quality performance.

  • Support strategic and marketing initiatives including planning trade shows and client engagement activities.

  • Coordinate across multiple disciplines or manage several smaller projects simultaneously.

  • Travel to client sites and project locations as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience including at least 3 years managing Transmission & Distribution (T&D) engineering projects.

  • Masters degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage project budgets schedules and technical teams.

  • Strong understanding of NESC and other industry standards and codes.

  • Experience preparing transmission design and construction documents.

  • Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive solutions-oriented approach.

  • Demonstrated success in client management and business development.

  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel as needed.

  • Must meet company standards for vehicle operation as defined by internal policy.
