Qualification:
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Business Administration Quantity Surveying Engineering Construction Management or Cost Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in contract management or administration within the mining engineering or construction sectors.
- Extensive experience in the development and execution of EPC D&C BOO and construction-only contracts.
- Strong familiarity with both head-office and site-based contract administration processes.
- Proven expertise in contract drafting negotiation claims management and assessment of progress payments and variations.
Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract law commercial practices and industry-standard contracting frameworks.
- Strong negotiation analytical and financial management skills.
- Proven ability to draft and interpret complex contract documents.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of integrity attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office SAP and contract management systems (highly desirable).
Responsibilities:
- Review the scope of work and contract conditions to prepare accurate comprehensive tender packages.
- Coordinate the tendering process including commercial and technical evaluations with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct commercial and legal negotiations to ensure contractual terms align with company objectives and mitigate risks.
- Prepare contract award recommendations and business cases for management approval.
- Administer post-award contract activities including managing claims variations and extensions of time.
- Monitor contractor performance and compliance with contractual insurance and security requirements.
- Maintain complete and organized records of all contract-related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with policies Delegation of Authority (DOA) legal standards and internal procedures.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks in coordination with project teams and legal advisors.
- Support the prompt resolution of scheduling performance and contractual disputes.
- Review and approve monthly progress claims prepare payment certificates and manage contract budgets and forecasts.
- Track and control contract costs ensuring alignment between purchase orders invoices and contracted scope.
- Conduct and lead regular progress meetings with contractors and stakeholders ensuring minutes and actions are documented.
- Evaluate contractor performance based on defined KPIs and provide input for continuous improvement.
- Ensure contractors meet agreed timelines deliverables and quality standards in line with contract terms.
