Agile is seeking a Software Engineer Intern- Summer 2026 to join our software engineering team to develop Agiles internal software tools which support all aspects of Agiles operations from rocket engine design and testing to additive manufacturing. The intern will work closely with the team to develop new tools used by Agiles engineers and technicians in developing the next generation of propulsion systems for satellites lunar landers and more.

The internship will include full participation in a software development project from requirements definition to design implementation testing and deployment. Specific projects will be determined based on the interns skills but may include:

  • Development of a user interface for visualization and exploratory analysis of high-speed test data from Agiles state of the art rocket engine test stands
  • Development of a live data streaming system for monitoring test data and video feeds from engine hot fire tests in real time
  • Development of a backend data pipeline for processing automated analysis and storage of test data
  • Development of a web-based monitoring tool and computer vision-based anomaly detection system for Agiles additive manufacturing operations

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a bachelors degree or graduate program in computer science aerospace engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: C C C# JavaScript Python Go Rust React
  • Willingness to work fulltime onsite at the Durango office location

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and deploying software that has been used on real-world applications
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices including requirements definition system design version control and documentation
  • Strong skills in debugging performance optimization and unit testing
  • Experience with web development including frontend backend and/or database development
  • Experience building reactive user interfaces using a framework such as React Vue or Angular
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly and independently and adapt to changing requirements

Employment Type: Non-Exempt - Intern

Pay Range: $21 - $25 an hour. Plus a monthly housing stipend of $1000. (Please note the housing stipend is prorated)

Students joining Agile through our internship program will receive the opportunity to attend presentations from company leaders social and networking events as well as professional and personal development trainings. Interns also receive paid company holidays for any holidays that take place during their internship period.
