How You Will Make An Impact
Coordinate field inspections and investigations under supervision of a project engineer including on-site direction of subsurface exploration activities subsurface utility marking notifications and obtain access permits/communications.
Gather data from test borings test pits and monitoring wells.
Oversee installation of various geotechnical instrumentation and read them based on project requirements.
Conduct field testing and select samples for laboratory soil testing.
Perform a variety of engineering analyses and calculations with and without the use of engineering software.
Prepare geotechnical report and present findings and recommendations.
Monitor construction operations including earthwork dewatering and excavation support installations and prepare engineering field reports.
Assist in the preparation of technical proposals cost estimates plans and technical specifications.

What You Bring to The Team
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (emphasis on geotechnical engineering) or related degree from a 4-year accredited college or university. Masters preferred.
Experience with software for geotechnical analysis and design of slope stability earth retention / shoring settlement vertical and lateral loading of shallow and deep foundations and related items is highly desirable.
Ability to interact with existing clients to understand their needs.
May be required to perform job duties in the field and office during non-standard work hours as necessary.
Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
May be required to enter and work within confined spaces once appropriately trained.
Strong time management communication and organizational skills.
A desire to be part of a results-focused team solving a variety of problems facing our clients.
Must hold a valid drivers license and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites/offices in Michigan.
Preferred Qualifications
EIT preferred; or able to be obtained within 1 year.
3 years of demonstrated field and analyses experience in Geotechnical Engineering
