Cleaning Supervisor (Facilities Supervisor)

Location: Inverness
Contract: Initial 1 Year Fixed Contract
Hours: 40 Hrs per week - Monday to Friday or 16 Hrs Sat to Sun

Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast Yorkshire and Humber Northern Ireland and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government registered providers tenants landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of cleaners ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained across all areas and reporting directly to The Soft Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of cleaning staff
  • Ensure all areas are cleaned to high standards including offices staircases landings and toilets
  • Oversee tasks such as vacuuming mopping dusting emptying bins cleaning sinks replenishing supplies and operating cleaning machinery where required
  • Train support and motivate staff to deliver consistent quality
  • Carry out regular inspections to maintain hygiene and safety standards
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of cleaning materials
  • Report maintenance issues or hazards promptly
  • Consistently deliver excellent customer service
  • Ensured full compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure the safety of staff by reviewing shift patterns and ensure adequate cover is in place

Role Criteria:

  • Experience in the above duties
  • Good knowledge of cleaning techniques equipment and COSHH regulations
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Previous experience in cleaning or facilities management
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • IT literate with good attention to detail
  • Polite professional and able to follow instructions

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.

As part of the recruitment process for this role we will carry out a Background Identity Security clearance & BPSS check. For these checks to be completed we will require from you the relevant identification including Proof of Address References a valid passport and proof that you have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
