The Finance Business Partner will partner with the business to provide effective planning analysis and advice on all financial aspects within the business unit. These roles support the Qantas Loyalty strategy leading month end close financial reporting forecasting and performance delivery across a broad and diverse portfolio.
With a commercial leadership focus the Finance Business Partner will assist the Lead FBP and Head of Finance in finding opportunities and prioritisation processes and will also have influence over the business unit strategy. The role is dynamic high-profile and engaging requiring strong stakeholder management skills attention to detail and the ability to navigate complex financial environments with confidence and strategic insight. The Finance Business Partner role will also support and advise the business and Lead FBP in the areas of Stewardship & Risk Management compliance policy & group management and continuous improvement of the finance function.
Youll be accountable for:
- End-to-end P&L management include month-end processes business unit budgeting planning and forecasting.
- Ensure alignment with strategic and gross margin objectives and deliver results against forecast through effective financial oversight and risk management.
- Monitor and challenge senior leaders on business performance and forecasts to drive accuracy reduce conservatism and meet agreed targets.
- Deliver value-added analysis across business strategy and provide critical input into business cases and assess new commercial opportunities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the finance function leveraging data analytics to understand cost/profit drivers and support root cause analysis
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels.
- Act as a key link between finance and the business translating complex financial concepts into clear actionable insights.
- Prepare and deliver timely concise management reporting.
Youll have:
- 5 years relevant experience Tertiary qualifications in Commerce Finance Business or other relevant discipline
- Extensive financial knowledge and experience (CPA/CA/equivalent)
- Strong analytical financial and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver clear financial analysis and advice to non-finance management teams
- Intellectual capability to quickly understand apply and embed new concepts in a complex business environment
- Exposure to forecasting and budgeting processes
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and lead them to successful business outcomes
- Ability to positively influence stakeholders to overcome roadblocks and deliver successful outcomes
- Superior communication and influencing skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting objectives to deliver key milestones
- Strong sense of urgency focus on outcomes and drive for success
- Highly motivated self-starter with an ability to work under time pressure with limited supervision
- Strong PC skills including Excel and PowerPoint
