Job Description:
This role provides detailed in-process and incoming inspections on flight vehicle composite components machined parts and assemblies ensuring conformance to manufacturing and design requirements by using detailed drawings and established processes. It involves inspecting machined parts composite parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy with the aid of precision measuring instruments templates jigs and fixtures. Additionally it includes visually inspecting composite parts and assemblies for voids porosity delamination and other physical characteristics. The role examines products for compliance with workmanship standards and verifies the proper installation of correct components hardware and wiring. Furthermore it entails documenting production non-conformances following prescribed procedures and processes as needed. This position collaborates with quality engineers in developing inspection requirements and techniques and implementing quality plans. It includes reviewing new or modified drawings and/or work instructions to ensure compliance with quality standards and recommending changes as necessary. Additionally the role assists in evaluating defect data to identify trends and works with quality engineers to make recommendations for process improvements.
Essential Functions:
Perform Receiving In Process and final Inspections of aviation related components and assemblies.
Performs data entry and maintains records for inspections non-conformances and reports.
Collaborate with Quality Engineers and Operations to manage daily priorities.
Perform duties in compliance with documented procedures.
Inspection of wire harness assemblies Circuit Card assemblies per IPC-610 & IPC-620
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or an Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
US Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
Intermediate Knowledge and/or experience with GD&T
Basic Understanding of aircraft construction/materials.
Working ability to utilize measuring equipment calipers micrometers pin gauges etc.
Basic knowledge of DC electrical circuits and components.
2 years experience in a High-Tech Development or Production Manufacturing Environment.
