Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers our 1600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is addition Operations play a very active role in Innovation Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

The Manufacturing Engineering department provides innovative solutions to Process Re-Engineering and Continuous Improvement projects or issues with the Site Services team supporting operations in achieving required performance levels of plant and site services equipment to meet business continuity statutory compliance and stakeholder expectations.

Your unique contribution

The Site Technical Services Manager will manage a team of engineers and be responsible for a high volume of contractors. The team will be responsible for supporting effective Planned Preventive Maintenance Corrective Repair Project related work (Capex and Minor Works) Continuous Improvement and Equipment Overhaul and Replacement.

You will have six main areas of responsibility:

  • People Leadership to manage a technically capable and focussed team of Technicians with a flexible attitude and prioritisation of requests and continually develop your team within our performance management system identifying and planning development safety and technical training needs. You will also support a 24/7 second line call-out service when required and provide emergency support for business continuity.
  • Technical Expertise to be the site team technical expert and provide guidance to technicians and contractors managing all aspects of mechanical civil and electrical maintenance and remedial work delivered by both internal resources and external contractors. You will ensure that critical spares availability and routine requirements are identified and available and effectively use our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record compliance technician performance and equipment effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration - you will manage the control of on-site works process for all contractor works within site services minor works installations and CAPEX projects. You will engage stakeholders and collaborate for access strategy and planning of maintenance outages. You will also provide direct support through your team and contractors for all site related CAPEX Projects.
  • Budget Control to manage and control revenue spend for the site maintenance and reactive works and provide budget control for all repairs maintenance and forward planning.
  • Compliance to continually review and administer engineering systems procedures and maintenance practices in line with engineering best practices and ensure that all appropriate documentation is available used and kept up to date for site services. You will ensure 100% statutory compliance within site services including statutory insurance inspections quality and business continuity audits lead site care tours and incident investigation (RCPS)
  • Continuous Improvement to continually review and identify areas for improving asset capability and engineering compliance and lead specific project work and continuous improvement activities to deliver business benefits and prolong asset life integrity performance and condition.

Who youll be working with

Internally youll collaborate with the wider Engineering team as well as other areas of Manufacturing including Continuous Improvement Supply Chain Bottling Vatting Quality Health and Safety and New Product Development as well as other functions such as Finance.

Externally you will collaborate with contractors suppliers and vendors to ensure delivery of services to the highest standard.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if you:

  • Are qualified to HNC/HND in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services engineering and have demonstrable relevant experience in a similar role with strong technical knowledge.
  • Have experience of leading high performing teams setting of KPIs and driving achievement of department objectives.
  • Have working knowledge and experience of high-volume contractor management and use of permit LOTO and SSOW processes.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Are computer literate and able to operate business process systems e.g. Computerised Maintenance Management.
  • Hold IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
