POSITION OBJECTIVE: The job of Teacher on Assignment Transition (TOA) is done for the purpose(s) of assisting and supporting Special Education teachers and staff and communicating with Special Education Administration. | |
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.) | |
1. Attend IEP meetings (including private placement) at assigned comlese or as needed at any site. 2. Suport staff in writing compliant IEPs and use of electronic IEP system. 3. Supoort staff in areas of trasition; training activities IEP development post high school transition planning. 4. Support staff in areas of curriculum and behavior management. 5. Communicate and collaborate with administrators and staff in order to ensure compliance and programming success. 6. Develop and present professional development training as needed. 7. Plan for and oversee extended school year program. 8. Monitor and oversee alternate assessment of staff. 9. Collaborate with other Special Education TOAs. in district and building meetings as required. in professional development training. other duties as assigned. | |
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require): Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution. Meet professional teacher education requirements of school district and state. State certification in Special Education. Relevant teaching experience. | |

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class typically require: reaching standing walking finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time the job is rated for Light Work. | |
