As a Design Engineer in Advanced Technology Thermal Systems Design team you will be responsible for supporting thermal design of engine components such as combustor and turbine. Propellers D&A team which is a part of GE Aerospace Poland organization is looking for an Operations Leader to support Dowty Propeller which is a world-leading manufacturer of integrated propeller systems (its products are used in applications that range from regional airliners and military airlifters to marine hovercrafts). We are looking for hardworking open-minded people who are willing to learn and are not afraid of taking challenges. Operation Leader will report progress of all activities to Dowty Engineering Leader and GEAP Propeller D&A Sub-Section Manager.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the collation of finance budget and strategic plan data for Dowty Engineering
- Preparation and review of project financial tracking data on a monthly basis (Dowty).
- Management of resource supply and demand data for Dowty Engineering
- Tracking of purchase orders and invoicing (Dowty and EDC Propellers).
- Generation and update of Bowler Chart for Dowty Engineering.
- Lead and support improvement initiatives
- Manage hours/invoicing between UK and Poland for Dowty
- Provide day-to-day support of Dowty Engineering Leader to resolve operational issues.
- Monitoring and active participation in ensuring effective communication within EDC/Dowty departments. Facilitate employee meetings.
- Identify opportunities for resources optimization. Support Program Leadership and People Management group in resource and demand planning process (manage of R&D matrix).
- Implementing reviewing and modifying company policies and procedures (EDC Propellers).
- Cooperate with department managers to ensure that quality and productivity goals are met on a daily basis. Work with them to identify problems and work to make improvements.
- Conducting departments budget reviews and reporting findings (especially for EDC team).
- Handle administrative activities (e.g. labor/yeld time reports travel expenses reviews support trainings organization).
- Drive set up and monitor processes and procedures needed to execute FAR12/15 works at GE Aerospace Poland. Cooperate with Dowty representatives to introduce the most efficient solution from our both teams.
- Promote Lean approach and support Lean initiatives. Interact with Lean community representatives. Actively engage with problem solving process.
- Support specific functional &/or organizational initiatives.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications:
- BSc/MSc
- Target oriented responsible demonstrated strong problem-solving skills passion to learn open mind strong motivation structured process-based thinking.
- Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries.
- Demonstrated high written and verbal communication skills good English language skills (reading speaking and writing).
- Ability and availability to travel (UK).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
