Role Overview:
Search powers real time discovery across the Genesys Cloud platform enabling customers to instantly access conversations analytics and operational insights at massive scale. This role architects and advances the distributed systems that process millions of events per minute and index terabytes of data nightly ensuring high availability performance and precision. You will shape the evolution of our large scale search infrastructure influencing architecture decisions that impact enterprise customers globally. At Genesys we build technology that strengthens human connections and you will play a critical role in delivering intelligent scalable search experiences that drive measurable customer value.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and evolve large scale distributed search systems that process millions of events per minute in real time
Lead end to end design of scalable search solutions from requirements through production delivery
Drive improvements in platform reliability performance and resiliency across search services
Influence engineering standards by advocating for best practices in search architecture and query optimization
Partner with product managers and cross functional teams to align technical direction with business outcomes
Oversee indexing strategies and data modeling to improve search accuracy latency and scalability
Guide code quality through active participation in design discussions and code reviews
Resolve complex production challenges to maintain system stability and customer trust
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrate extensive experience building distributed systems and microservices architectures in Java
Apply deep expertise with Spring frameworks in large scale production environments
Design and optimize Elasticsearch or equivalent search platforms including indexing and query performance tuning
Architect event driven systems using technologies such as Kafka
Leverage AWS services including EC2 S3 and Lambda to build resilient cloud native systems
Translate business requirements into scalable maintainable search architectures
Preferred Qualifications:
Lead architectural initiatives that span multiple engineering teams
Optimize big data pipelines that process high volume nightly workloads
Implement CI and CD practices that support automated testing deployment and scalability
Influence platform level technical strategy within complex enterprise environments

Compensation:
This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidates experience qualifications skills and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.
