The Percy Hedley Foundation has three main sites providing specialist education adult day services and residential care to our service users. Our sites are based in Forest Hall Killingworth and Jesmond.

The Role

We are looking for an individual to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave. The post will be based within the Percy Hedley Foundations Health and Wellbeing Serviceswhich includesadult day services adult residentialservicesand Adult Independent Supported Living Services. Our adult and provisions are 18 who have moderate to severe learning disability with associated mental health difficulties andmayusenon-speaking meansto express what they need.

The post holder will be an experienced practitioner who has a sound working knowledge ofmodels promoting good quality of life including PositiveBehaviourSupport (PBS)(where appropriate); Reducing Restrictive Practice; Co-Production; and Trauma Informed Practiceand is passionate about promoting the rights of adults with disabilitiestheir families and systems of support.

The postholder will work witha number ofpeoplewho are presenting withhigh levelsof distress will work withinthe previously mentioned frameworksto understand the needs of these adultsto promotegoodqualityof life. They will work closely alongside colleagues within Health Social Care NHS sectors focusing on reducing restrictive practices across different settings and environments. This work will includeidentifyingand addressing workforce development issues and service re-design where needed.

The post holder will work alongside other members ofHealth and Wellbeingto develop and deliver the strategyspecifically with a focus on trainingon QualityofLifeand will mentor staff who are progressing through the BTEC/Diploma PBS training.
