DescriptionSafety-Kleen is seeking aWaste Water- Refinery Operator to join our team inEast Chicago IN.This position will focus on Waste Water Treatment as a priority task at the facility. This is a Union position starting at$25.47 The employee will need to be flexible to work all shifts days swings and graveyards as needed.

Responsibilities- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices policies procedures and processes
- Monitor wastewater systems including activated sludge and nutrient removal processes for discharge to municipal sewer system
- Monitor steam boiler chemistry and blow down boiler water to ensure hardness and conductivity are within acceptable criteria
- Monitors and responds to SCADA system data (interface only) to optimize plant performance
- Maintain the levels and process chemistry (i.e. coagulant flocculant de-foamer caustic etc.)
- Collect samples perform testing and make process adjustments to ensure within acceptable criteria
- Collect and record tank levels flows and complete Logbook entries
- Maintain and complete all site-specific training
- Use of forklift
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 years environmental or chemical educational background or industry related experience
- Waste water treatment experience preferred
- Basic chemical understanding is preferred
- Forklift experience
