Role overview:
As a FCA Compliance Manager you will be responsible for the effective management of the Regulatory Compliance Team which will provide guidance around product development and product changes financial promotions and marketing customer journeys online and offline and support the wider risk and compliance team design outsourcer oversight and the compliance monitoring plan.
Any regulatory compliance incidents that occur (including near misses) may require your support to the UK Company Secretary to ensure that incidents are managed and closed with relevant stakeholders involved immediately.
You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders externally and across the organisation ensuring positive assurances are delivered through team meetings and committee meetings to demonstrate the effectiveness of controls and drive continuous improvement within the business.
You will play a key role in creating a culture aligned to the regulations and ensure we demonstrate the business embraces the consumer duty supports customers with vulnerabilities and meets its regulatory responsibilities.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supporting the development of the regulatory compliance framework systems and controls including both the Compliance Manual and Compliance Oversight plan and framework.
- Play a supporting role in Consumer Understanding Consumer Support and Vulnerable Customer Committee Meetings.
- Provide practical guidance and advice to the business on current and forthcoming FCA (and other entities) requirements including supporting business projects.
- Ensure compliance and regulatory input is provided to all projects when required.
- Identify processes with waste activities to streamline and maximise outputs in particular around marketing ways of working and customer journeys.
- Work with the UK Company Secretary to ensure regulatory policies for the FCA are reviewed annually and are fit for purpose across the group.
- Work with QA and Operations to ensure that actions around QA stats are satisfactory in line with FCA Underwriter and Commercial Insurances broker.
- Support the L&D team with the design of onboarding and learning pathways for FCA compliance
- Supporting and understanding your team with effective coaching and identifying development areas. Providing opportunities for colleagues to improve and showcase their skills.
Essential Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of the FCA handbook
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
- How to apply the FCA handbook to a commercial organisation
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to plan organise and meet deadlines/targets where appropriate
- Effective presentation skills
- Ability to challenge and perform under pressure
- Influencing and persuading skills
- Commercial awareness
