Job Summary
The Laboratory Info Systems Support Specialist has a focus on Laboratory Information System (LIS) management Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA). This role ensures the smooth operation of the assigned laboratory area(s) and assists in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities
- LIS Support: Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting the Laboratory Information System (LIS) ensuring proper functionality data integrity and seamless workflow.
- Quality Control (QC) & Quality Assurance (QA): Oversee laboratory QC and QA processes ensuring compliance with CLIA CAP and other regulatory guidelines.
- Operational Oversight: Monitor and support daily lab operations remotely ensuring efficiency accuracy and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist in preparing for inspections and audits by reviewing documentation ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and addressing any deficiencies.
- Communication & Reporting: Collaborate with the Lab Manager and Lab Director to report findings suggest improvements and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Training & Support: Provide guidance and training to laboratory staff on LIS functionalities quality assurance measures and compliance standards.
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Lab Manager or Lab Director to support laboratory efficiency and compliance.
Education Requirements
- Minimum: Associates degree in one of the chemical physical or biological sciences and at least one (1) year full-time laboratory training or experience or both.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in one of the chemical physical or biological sciences and at least one (1) year full-time laboratory training or experience or both.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Experience with data entry medical terminology and customer service or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Previous laboratory information system experience preferred.
