Job Summary and Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent is a member of the healthcare team responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring surveillancedysrhythmia recognition and reporting and analyzing a recording EKG and hemodynamic waveforms using accepted
standards and measuring guidelines. The monitor technician is also responsible for maintaining accurate and completerecords of all monitored patients according to unit policy assisting with order entry and answering the phones.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
- 1 year cardiac monitoring experience
- Basicmedical terminology
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability tosuccessfully complete dysrhythmia
- recognition test.
- Acute care experiencerequired BLS CPR
- EKG Monitoring course completion (Annual Testing Required)
