Housing Development Officer - Acquisitions and Disposals
Waverley Court

Salary: 33287 - 39129
Hours: 36 per week 52 weeks

The Housing & Homelessness Strategy team are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can assist the delivery of new projects and strategies to increase affordable housing to address homelessness and make living in the city more affordable to all.

The post holder should have knowledge within the housing sector and be able to contribute to the development of innovative solutions to challenges. You should have experience of assisting the delivery of successful projects through partnership working and able to deal with changing demands.

This post will primarily assist with the Councils Acquisitions and Disposals programme aiming to increase the number of homes available as part of the Councils strategic objective to eliminate the use of unsuitable temporary accommodation.

Please note this is not a front-line Housing Officer role.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.

Responsibilities

Experience:

  • Experience within a housing or other similar service environment of comparable scope size and complexity.
  • Delivering or supporting front line services to deliver excellent customer services. Supporting programmes and projects and an understanding of your contribution to effective teamwork.

Knowledge skills and understanding:

  • Excellent analytical and research skills and the ability to interpret and communicate complex policy legislation regulation and data. Ability to write think speak and present clearly and succinctly and to understand the importance of communication in long term planning.
  • Negotiating skill and experience of securing the cooperation and contribution of partners and colleagues to the delivery of services. Strong verbal and numerical reasoning skills.

Qualifications and training:

  • Evidence of continuous professional and management development.

  • Strong programme and project management skills.
