Responsibilities
- Provides 1:1 direct observation to assigned patient to prevent patient self-injury in a situation where patient/family is unable to do so.
- Communicates with assigned nursing/nursing support staff on assigned area immediately in case of emergency or as needed to provide patient care on routine basis.
- Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service.
- Abides by all hospital and departmental policies.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional educational and lifestyle backgrounds.
- Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular reliable attendance.
- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA TJC DNV OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare
Qualifications
High School graduate or GED required
Familiarity with healthcare environment preferred.
