Position Summary
Custodial staff person works under the direct supervision of the X to ensure that the exterior facility is maintained in a clean and safe fashion that supports the delivery of safe effective and quality services to the youth of the club.
Essential Functions
- Use and maintain assigned hand tools; vacuums brooms mops and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors walls carpets furniture etc
- Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments.
- Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed by Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Perform outdoor cleaning and related activities such a removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.
- Support and enforce all policies such as OSHA rules health and safety regulations and guidelines etc.
- Schedule work in manner that will least disrupt operations and work with Program Director to minimize disruptions to the program.
- Be vigilant for and address or report any safety or health issues on BGCDE property when performing day-to-day work.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lifts carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Typically bends stoops and walks and on a regular basis in the course of duties.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Additional Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- An understanding of all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.
- Experience in cleaning or custodial work at large facility is preferred.

1 (one) year of service averaging 30 hours per week.
