Registered Veterinary Technician
Pet Emergency & Specialty CenterofSouth County is seeking a Full-Time experienced Registered Veterinary Technician- Level 1 to join our amazing team!
We are a 24-hour Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Chula Vista. Successfulcandidateshould have a minimum of 1-3years of experience in veterinary medicine.

The Registered Veterinary Technicianperforms a vital role in our practice promoting efficient hospital operation and provision of excellent patient have a compassionate caring and understanding responsibilitiesincludethe following.

Role Responsibilities:
-Set an example of courtesy and professionalism in working with clients and coworkers.
-Assistand follow the directions of lead techniciansmanagementand doctors.
-Perform simple treatments as directed.
-Reliably perform that treatments are kept up to date.
-Handle all animals with both caution and compassion.
-Assistwith surgeriesand prepare patients for surgery.
-Assistwith some reception work when needed.
-Perform basic lab work such asCBC/CHEM/LytesandPCVs
-Assistin taking and developing X-Rays under the supervision of a senior technician.
-Communicate withclientspet health concerns and treatment plans.
-Obtain relevant health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
-Complete training and continuing education assignments on schedule
-You maybe requiredto work beyond regularly scheduled shifts at times due to an unexpectedly heavy emergency caseload.
Experience & Technical skills:
* RVT license
* Previous veterinary technicianexperiences1-2years.
* Previous experience1year in Urgent Care or Emergency.
* Proficient inTriage
* Ability to multi-taskunder pressureand work well with others.
* Safely restrain patients.
* Monitor anesthesia and anesthetic recovery.
* Perform basic lab work.
*Proficient in IV cathetersplacements blood work IVandSQinjections.
* Place peripheral IV catheters.
* ICU nursing.
* Monitor patients in surgery using proper anesthetic techniques

Compensationnegotiable based on credentials and experience with hourly pay rate starting at$24.5-$27/hour.
Schedule: Monday Thursday Friday Saturday 3pm-1:30am.Available to work weekends swings and overnight shifts.
