Job Summary: The Emergency Department Registered Nurse delivers timely high-quality nursing care to patients presenting with acute and life-threatening conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment rapid decision-making and the ability to function effectively in a high-acuity emergency environment.
Responsibilities
Provide emergency nursing care through rapid assessment intervention and continuous monitoring.
Identify and respond promptly to life-threatening conditions.
Administer medications IV therapies and treatments per emergency protocols.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to stabilize and treat patients.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
May assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
100-mile radius rule applies
Travel nursing experience Required
MEDITECH EMR experience Required
Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience Required
Critical care and charge nurse experience Preferred
Ability to function effectively in high-stress clinical situations
Strong leadership prioritization delegation and problem-solving skills
Ability to recognize safety risks and safely assist with patient transfers
Must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation
Must obtain defibrillation certification within 6 months of employment
Must complete IV medication and phlebotomy certification during orientation
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required
License: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License Required
