Great Southern Wood Preserving Inc.the makers of YellaWood Pressure Treated Pine has an immediate opening for anINDUSTRIAL Maintenance Technicianat its facility in Tuscumbia Alabama. Located directly off Hwy 72 in Shoals Commerce Park.
2 years of plant maintenance or Industrial maintenance experience is preferred and a valid driver license and high school diploma or equivalent are required. Regular shift hours are 11pm-7am Monday-Friday. Additional hours are to be expected.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the Preventative Maintenance program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.
Analyze problems and interpret technical information necessary to make required repairs (troubleshooting of equipment issues).
Perform mechanical electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility support equipment.
Inspect operate and test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and validate work performed.
Ensure safety by following all company policies including safety rules procedures and Lock-out / Tag-out procedures complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted and maintain complete records of work performed.
Job Requirements:
2 years of Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
Electrical mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and PLC Knowledge preferred.
Welding plumbing and pipe fitting experience.
Ability to lift 50 pounds stack/unstack or carry stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time (except for break and lunch periods) climb perform repetitive motions and work in a damp loud environment. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; toxic chemicals.
