Java Software Engineer Intern

Temetra is a leading meter data management platform in the water metering industry trusted globally for over 20 years. It manages data for approximately 50 million meters worldwide ensuring accuracy scalability and reliability for utilities and service providers.

We are looking for a motivated Intern to join our product development team and gain hands-on experience with Temetra. This is an excellent opportunity to dive deep into the water metering industry and learn how large-scale data systems operate. You will work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to the evolution of a mature mission-critical platform.

The hired intern to comfortably complete the responsibilities would need to work a minimum of 30 hours/week.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and improving Temetras backend and frontend components.

• Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

• Collaborate with the team on feature enhancements and performance optimization.

• Document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in either BSc or MSc studies in Computer Science or a related field

• Around 1 year of experience in software development including academic and practical projects.

• Basic understanding of programming concepts (Java/JavaScript is a plus).

• Interest in software development and large-scale data systems.

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
