The Avionics industry is entering into a new exciting age of Urban Air Mobility and Autonomous Flight.

Be part of a team that will lead the way in this market by developing new compact and lightweight Next Generation Traffic and Airborne Surveillance Avionics that will be used on a wide variety of aircraft platforms from Air Transport and Business Jets to Urban Air Mobility (UAM) / Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). You will help create breakthrough innovations that will ensure Honeywells leadership position in this space.

As a Sr Advanced Hardware Engineer within our TCAS (Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System) and Transponder Product Team you will play a critical role in developing advanced hardware solutions that will meet the long-term evolving needs of the Aviation industry. Your hardware engineering expertise will not only impact the successful delivery of cutting-edge Avionics solutions but also contribute to the broader mission of enhancing global aviation travel navigation and safety.



Responsibilities
  • In this role you will have the opportunity to work on next-generation legacy and new product development projects directly contributing to the advancement of aviation technology in the Airborne Traffic Collision Avoidance & Surveillance Avionics space.
  • You will have ownership for systems development at every aspect of the systems life cycle.
  • Standards application and improvements
  • Develop and improve work practices
  • Review process and product quality
  • Lead engineering teams and customer discussions
  • Project management
  • Oversight of Hardware Qualification testing

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences technology engineering or mathematics
  • 4-6 years of experience in Hardware development electrical or hardware system level engineering

WE VALUE

  • Masters Degree or advanced professional certification
  • Deep understanding of a variety of hardware engineering standards and specifications (especially DO-254 and DO-160 is of value)
  • Experience in similar product domains is of value i.e. Avionics Navigation and/or Integrated Surveillance (TCAS Transponder ADS-B DME UAT)
  • Experience with providing engineering estimations for new developments
  • Expert knowledge of product and process technologies OR broad knowledge of multiple product and process technologies
  • Familiar with FAA certification processes is of value.
  • Experience with resolving factory related issues and customer returns
  • Experience with oversight of Hardware Qualification testing
  • Ability to communicate project status and technical concepts with Management and Customers
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate business impact and continuous drive for improvement
  • Ability to influence customers and cross-functional teams to deliver optimal outcomes
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions and balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness in an ambiguous environment
