Group Manager (Operations) Job Level Executive Director

Role Overview:
We are seeking a strategic data-driven Head of Middle Office Data Engineering and Quality to lead the build and oversight of a best in class Data Quality and Engineering function in India with a focus on the full suite of data produced by the investment operations middle office including transaction management investment/performance book and record reference data and account level data. This role sits within the Public Markets Middle Office and is pivotal to ensuring data accuracy transparency and operational readiness across the firms investment operations in support of MSIM clients investment teams and traders and other essential uses of middle office operations data.

The successful candidate will lead a team of 20 professionals delivering high-quality data services to enable front-to-back operational processes investment analytics regulatory compliance and a best-in-class client experience. The role requires a blend of operational execution and building an MSIM enterprise level aligned function focused on data management strategy and engineering and quality control development governance alignment and cross-functional partnership across enterprise-wide functions including Technology Enterprise Data Architecture Investment and Trading Teams Client Teams Risk and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Data Oversight:

• Lead efforts to identify monitor and remediate data quality issues across key operational platforms.
• Maintain robust data validation and exception monitoring processes to ensure completeness accuracy and timeliness of both reference and transactional data.
• Provide tiered support for data exceptions enabling scalable issue triage resolution and escalation.
• Drive high-touch oversight of complex and sensitive data sets including those powering performance reporting and regulatory processes.
• Ensure high quality outcomes for MSIM clients and investment teams and other data consumers

Data Strategy & Enablement:

• Champion the Data as a Product approach enabling outcome-focused data services aligned with front-to-back operational workflows.
• Partner with Enterprise Data Governance and Architecture teams to deliver scalable sustainable and controlled data solutions across tooling and processes
• Support data consumers (including Portfolio Managers Risk Compliance and Client Reporting) with fit-for-purpose data tailored to investment needs.
• Provide full transparency into operational data health including exception dashboards readiness metrics and KPIs.
• Build the Data Engineering team and platform

Controls Reporting & Governance:

• Develop maintain and operationalize data quality controls across pricing security master and core operational datasets.
• Deliver and manage KPI dashboards trend analysis and exception reporting to senior stakeholders and data governance forums.
• Align with firm-wide data strategy and governance models ensuring compliance with policies while recognizing Operational Data as an enabler not the data owner. Experience and Qualifications:
• 15 years of experience in Investment Operations Data Management or Middle Office leadership roles at a global asset manager or financial services firm.
• Proven experience managing large global teams (20 FTEs) focused on global and enterprise level delivery.
• Deep expertise in investment management across pooled vehicles SMAs and institutional mandates.
• Demonstrated understanding of investment and trade management pricing valuations client regulatory and compliance and security master data management.
• Familiarity with a full range of financial products including public and private instruments and asset classes.
• Strong knowledge of global custodian and broker standards including regulatory data requirements.
• Highly proficient in industry platforms such as Aladdin WSO CTM Bloomberg FactSet GTSS CLS and reconciliation tools.
• Strong technology (pro dev low code and AI) orientation with a track record of implementing data-driven platforms dashboards and automated controls.
• Skilled in root cause analysis data lineage exception handling and process optimization.
• Experience with building teams and platforms
