Platform QA Engineer (PID0567)

This is a remote position.

• 12-month freelance contract full-time basis daily rate available.
  
• Remote with occasional onsite visits in Germany required.
  
• English is the only language requirement for this role.
  

Platform End-to-End Testing

• Analyse requirements and dependencies for Kubernetes-as-a-Service data services (K8s-based operations for data technologies) and DevOps tools.
  

• Design and implement automated end-to-end platform tests to validate product functionality and integration.
  

• Coordinate with Product Line QA to maintain and improve test coverage across all testing levels (unit integration system and E2E).
  

• Conduct test planning test case design manual execution and automation.
  

• Execute regression testing and provide final QA approval for releases.
  

• Log track and validate bug fixes.
  

• Prepare and present comprehensive QA reports to the Product Management team.
  

Automated Testing and Validation

• Design implement and maintain automated test scenarios covering key platform workflows and cross-service interactions.
  

• Execute regression and release validation tests to ensure performance and reliability prior to deployment.
  

• Define and execute test plans for both functional and non-functional requirements.
  

• Conduct final QA sign-off based on test outcomes and release criteria.
  

Maintain High-Quality Test Coverage

• Ensure a balanced test strategy aligned with the testing pyramid (unit integration system end-to-end).
  

• Align test scope with delivery priorities and the technical architecture of Kubernetes-as-a-Service data services and DevOps tools.
  

• Perform manual testing when automation is not feasible or in early development phases.
  

Identify and Resolve Quality Risks

• Consult on architectural and operational risks based on platform usage and incident data.
  

• Analyse test failures and recurring defects to drive structural quality improvements.
  

• Log triage and track bugs through to resolution prioritizing based on delivery impact.
  

Test Reporting and Transparency

• Prepare and maintain test documentation including test cases coverage reports and results.
  

• Provide clear QA status updates and release readiness reports to Product Management and Engineering leadership.
  

• Highlight key risks coverage gaps and improvement areas using test data and platform feedback.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience working on large-scale projects or programs.
  

• Hands-on experience with pytest and automation of cloud-native services.
  

• Proficiency in testing under Linux/Unix environments.
  

• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and automation pipelines.
  

• Experience creating and maintaining test documentation.
  

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex cloud-native environments.
  

• Experience establishing QA processes and implementing best practices from the ground up.
  

• Experience with DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  

• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  

Must-Have Language Skills

• Fluent English in speech and writing (at least C1 level).
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience testing multi-cloud environments and cloud-native architectures.
  

• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes containerization and orchestration technologies.
  

• Familiarity with TestRail or other test management tools.
  

• Experience working on infrastructure platform projects.
  

Eligibility
