| Job Description |
What you will be doing: Human Resources Business Partner - Partner with site leadership to administer personnel policies practices and programs and advise and assist them in their interpretation and application.
- Assist senior management and department heads in organizational and departmental development by advising or by assisting with job structuring job descriptions reporting procedures and communications.
- Recruit interview screen and refer applicants for positions; conduct orientation programs for new employees; analyze turnover and recommend suggestions for improved retention as required.
- Assist site leadership in human resources utilization by participating in determining and projecting staffing requirements sources of qualified personnel training and development requirements.
- Act as a consultant regarding training and development programs; arrange or conduct programs.
- Act as liaison between employees and management; conduct investigations and recommend corrective action; assist management in the utilization of constructive communication including administering disciplinary actions.
- Interact with all shifts and departments on a regular basis; maintain a visible presence across all shifts and departments; attend routine team and DDS meetings ensuring awareness of floor activities and business priorities.
- Develop propose and administer approved wage and salary programs including job analysis job descriptions job evaluation and periodic surveys to assure a competitive and equitable compensation program; recommend changes as needed.
- Assist Corporate HR with the annual performance review process to ensure reviews are completed timely and accurately; discuss performance with the leadership team as a means of identifying future growth potential and supporting the corporate succession planning process.
- Assist Corporate HR in the execution of corporate employee relations policies and programs designed to keep the corporation union-free by analyzing the effects of practices/policies programs; recommend changes to meet goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with laws relative to wages and hours employee relations employee benefits employment opportunities and other related employment laws; act as a consultant within the corporation in interpreting the administration of the laws; seek assistance from Corporate HR Director and legal counsel as appropriate.
- Maintain a system of employee personnel record keeping retention and access by authorized personnel.
- Administer the corporate drug program which includes pre-employment screening random tests and post-accident screening when applicable.
- Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures including the use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards; work to advance and promote the safety culture of the site.
- Perform other related duties.
- Communicate consistently with the HR Manager and HR leadership regarding progress delays and task status; provide weekly updates and proactively raise issues before escalation is required.
- Demonstrate urgency in executing HR tasks such as onboarding employee conversions investigations and compliance-related items; track actions and meet all business-driven deadlines.
- Ensure all special projects are aligned with business priorities and receive approval from the HR Manager or HR leadership prior to initiation.
- Model a positive professional HR presence and approach fostering trust and engagement across departments.
Experience you will need: Human Resources Business Partner - BS degree in Human Resources (preferred) or its equivalent
- HR Business Partner Certification is preferred.
- At least five years of human resources experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as effective presentation skills to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of employees.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing plant setting and walking the production floor interacting with all levels of employees.
