Director of Project Management Office (PMO)
Location: Remote (U.S. Eastern or Central Time Zones Only)
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Full-Time
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Project Management Office (PMO) to establish and lead our enterprise delivery governance while overseeing complex high-impact client programs including Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) implementations and enterprise transformation initiatives.
This senior leadership role requires a proven leader who has built or led a PMO within an IT Services Provider or Managed Service Provider (MSP). The ideal candidate combines technical delivery expertise business acumen and process discipline to drive project excellence and consistency across the organization.
This role requires U.S. work authorization (no visa sponsorships) and residency in the Eastern or Central Time Zones.
Key Responsibilities
PMO Leadership & Governance
- Build and scale BlueAngles Project Management Office (PMO) defining governance models processes and performance standards.
- Implement project delivery frameworks and reporting structures to ensure quality visibility and accountability.
- Establish standardized templates tools and operating procedures for all delivery teams.
- Lead PMO governance reviews executive reporting and delivery risk assessments.
- Mentor and coach project managers instilling best practices and consistency across engagements.
Program & Project Delivery
- Oversee full lifecycle delivery of enterprise programs including Dynamics 365 F&O and related modernization projects.
- Manage integrated project plans timelines budgets and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Partner with technical and functional teams to align design testing and deployment with business goals.
- Proactively manage risks issues and change requests ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder awareness.
- Lead adoption and change management planning for successful end-user transition.
Client & Cross-Functional Engagement
- Act as the senior liaison between BlueAngle client executives and external vendors.
- Communicate project status key milestones and strategic decisions clearly to stakeholders.
- Ensure client expectations are met through proactive engagement and transparent reporting.
- Foster collaboration across departments to drive alignment accountability and delivery excellence.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
- Must reside in Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Central Standard Time (CST).
- 10 years of program or portfolio management experience including at least 5 years with an IT Services Provider or Managed Service Provider (MSP) this is required.
- Proven experience building or leading a Project Management Office (PMO) or enterprise delivery function.
- Demonstrated success managing Dynamics 365 F&O (or AX) or comparable ERP implementations.
- Strong understanding of ERP cloud and enterprise data systems (Azure SAP Databricks etc.).
- Expertise in project governance financial management and executive stakeholder communication.
- Experience managing distributed teams and multiple simultaneous programs.
- Proficiency in project management tools (Azure DevOps Jira MS Project Smartsheet or Planview).
- Bachelors degree required; Masters preferred.
- PMP PgMP or SAFe certification preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience launching or maturing a PMO for a Managed Service Provider or large consulting firm.
- Experience managing enterprise transformations or multi-entity rollouts.
- Familiarity with finance and operations business processes and data governance.
- Ability to lead change and influence across technical and business functions.
