of Job Duties:Under the direction of the Head Mens Track & Field/Cross Country Coach the Associate Head Cross Country/Assistant Track and Field Coach will coach and recruit high level student athletes with intent on creating a championship level team for both cross country and track and field. Will supply strategic support including the recruitment of student athletes roster management policy and compliance including event and schedule management. Assist with initial eligibility and admittance of student athletes monitor academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes financial aid and NCAA rules interpretations.

Will be primarily responsible for all aspects of the Mens Cross Country and distance group as it relates to the Athletic Department and Mens Track & Field Program under the direction of the Mens Head Track and Field Coach.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning

  • At least four years of experience coaching or competing in a track & field and/or cross country program

  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning

  • At least five years coaching experience at a division I cross country/track and field program

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of NCAA SEC and University policies and procedures

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational decision-making problem-solving skills

  • Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds and effectively interact with high energy intense personalities
