JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager Talent Learning and Development.

Reporting to the Director Human Resources this position is responsible for developing innovative and future-focused learning strategies that connect seamlessly to key aspects of talent management. This includes alignment with recruitment strategies succession planning performance management and workforce planning. The successful candidate will collaborate with business unit leaders to identify workforce learning needs manage budgets and resources and ensure that learning programs support the full employee lifecycle.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide leadership talent learning and development strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Champion innovative learning solutions that build individual and organizational capacity to support OPGs energy transition.
  • Partner with HR training professionals and business leaders to identify and close gaps in leadership performance.
  • Oversee enterprise leadership development business and technology systems and learning programs.
  • Represent Talent Learning & Development at key enterprise leadership meetings and industry forums (e.g. WANO NSRB OSART).
  • Manage external learning collaborations and international program deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulatory and industry standards.
  • Lead budgeting resource planning and vendor negotiations for programs.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement through benchmarking and performance metrics.
  • Leverage digital technologies and eLearning platforms to enhance knowledge systems and learning delivery.
  • Leverage change management principles to ensure effective implementation of programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 Year University Degree in Human Resources Business Administration Organizational Development Psychology Education or related fields
  • PROSCI Change Management Certification an asset
  • 8 years of experience leading teams in the areas of Adult Education Leadership Program Development Organizational Development or a related field
  • Proven experience in enterprise talent management and learning strategy development.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Expertise in change management organizational development and performance improvement.
  • Familiarity with energy industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with digital learning technologies and vendor management.
  • Exceptional communication strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement abilities.

The base salary range considers many factors including but not limited to experience education and training including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
