About the Role
The Government of Albertas Digital Design and Delivery (DDD) division is seeking two experienced Senior Quality Assurance Engineers to support the delivery of large-scale enterprise digital platforms and services. You will work in a modern Agile user-centered environment contributing to secure high-quality and accessible government services.
This role is ideal for a QA professional passionate about quality engineering automation and continuous improvement within complex enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities

Lead quality assurance efforts for enterprise digital platforms and services

Create and maintain test plans test cases and test scripts
-
Execute functional and non-functional testing (manual and automated)
-
Perform regression smoke sanity and exploratory testing
-
Conduct API testing (security performance data validation integration)
-
Perform mobile testing and cross-browser compatibility testing
-
Execute database testing using SQL to validate data integrity and accuracy
-
Support data conversion and migration testing
-
Design implement and maintain automated test suites
-
Track document and manage defects following QA best practices
-
Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to promote quality practices
-
Contribute to quality metrics automated reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Support reusable test components and emerging practices (including AI-assisted testing)
Required Qualifications

Strong background in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering
-
Experience with both manual and automated testing in Agile environments
-
Expertise in functional and non-functional testing
-
Hands-on experience with API testing and database testing (SQL)
-
Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
-
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Work Arrangement
-
Primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings in Edmonton (travel at candidates expense)
-
Candidate must provide their own computer and equipment
-
Microsoft Teams is the primary collaboration tool
Security Requirements

Must be eligible for a Criminal Record Check
-
May be required to obtain Enhanced Security Clearance or higher (e.g. RCMP clearance)
-
Final selection is subject to Government of Alberta security approval
