About the role
Strategic Market Reform (SMR) sits with AEMOs Policy and Corporate Affairs team. SMR contributes to the development of reform in Australias energy market working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to inform policy and regulatory processes and design and implementation of transformational change. This includes mandated and essential reform to support the energy transition that aims to deliver value to industry and consumers. The DER and Retail Reform team focuses on market and technical integration of Consumer Energy Resources (CER) and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) promoting access to retail competition and supporting consistent market operations and regulatory frameworks.
You will contribute to the development of energy markets in Australia with a particular focus on the retail market and technical integration of CER/DER. The role assists in the development of AEMO proposals in relation to energy market policy and regulation. The aim will be to influence energy market design and ascertain AEMO internal positions so that AEMO is positioned to maximise its contribution to the success of the energy markets in the future.
This is a one-year fixed term contract role which can be located anywhere in Australia.
