Were on the lookout for a dynamic Business Support Officer/Administrator to join our bustling Business Support Service. Youll play a pivotal role in driving positive outcomes for the children of Newham while contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.

From Housing and Environment to Childrens and Adults services our Business Support team delivers top-notch administrative expertise to a range of critical Council services. As part of this energetic team youll tackle varied responsibilities in a fast-paced environment making every day exciting and rewarding.

In a department of over 90 Staff we are pleased to offer the following opportunities.

  • 1 x permanent positions fulltime 36 hours per week CYPS Complex Needs service
  • 1x 1 Year contract Fulltime 36 hours per week CYPSfamily support and safeguarding service
  • 2x 6 months fulltime 36 hours per week CYPS Child protection & Care Recruitment.

Hybrid Working

Enjoy the best of both worlds! As part of our Social Care Hub youll have the opportunity to split your time between the office and home. Flexibility is key with arrangements tailored to meet service needs.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with the following attributes:

  • Proven ability to adapt to shifting work priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong emotional resilience and the capacity to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Excellent minute-taking skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High-level oral and written communication skills ensuring clarity and professionalism in all correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively manage personal workload.
  • Methodical and logical approach to problem-solving and task completion.
  • Versatility in managing a wide range of administrative and clerical responsibilities.
  • Advanced IT proficiency with the ability to quickly learn and utilise new systems and tools.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to collaborate effectively as a team member in a dynamic environment.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding or social care services is desirable.
