WHY JOIN THE TEAM

The successful Business Development Manager will work within the Out of Home team providing business development opportunities across our Out of Home partners globally and multiple Out of Home platforms. This includes Airlines Hotels Cruise Ships Trains Buses Airports etc. You will also assist with the implementation of the sales and distribution strategy and growth plans within the Out of Home business area across all platforms. The Out of Home Team comprises of eight members and is part of the wider EMEA Team within Global Channels & Streaming.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Achieve and exceed annual revenue targets by leveraging new branded services and the Audio catalogue through direct sales and affiliate/distributor partnerships.
  • Drive business development to unlock new revenue streams focusing on emerging technologies and audience aggregators.
  • Maintain accurate sales records in CMP/Salesforce including all opportunities and use this data for detailed quarterly forecasts.
  • Provide market and financial analysis to inform strategic decisions on new business opportunities.
  • Create and deliver presentations (internal and external) to support departmental initiatives and commercial strategies.
  • Build and manage relationships with senior executives customers and internal BBC teams across Strategy Content Production Marketing Legal and Global Operations.
  • Identify and pursue new distribution partners monitor industry trends and attend key trade events to expand BBCs Out of Home presence.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts for new projects ensuring alignment with KPIs and collaboration with legal and rights teams.
  • Lead Audio Content Sales in the Out of Home space managing accounts maximizing revenue and coordinating with finance and billing teams.
  • Support long-range planning and special projects including international travel to capitalize on strategic commercial opportunities.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • An understanding of the Channels / Content Sales marketplace with experience in an external facing TV Out of Home or Digital Media environment
  • would be desirable.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships in the TV/Out of Home industries is preferred.
  • Strong deal making experience required including negotiation and contract building.
  • Commercial Sales and Business Development experience is required.
  • Previous experience managing accounts is required.
  • Ability to travel frequently overseas sometimes at short notice
  • Ability to balance different areas of business simultaneously.
  • A strong commercial focus with a good level of strategic thinking and a creative problem solver.

DESIRED NOT REQUIRED:

  • Familiarity with BBC Programming and BBC Channels in general preferred
  • Keen analytical and mathematical skills.
