Senior Estimator Mechanical

The Senior Mechanical Estimator will play a critical role in developing accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems across complex projects. This position requires strong analytical skills deep knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to manage cost databases to ensure precision and consistency in estimating practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical discipline estimates for all project phases (conceptual schematic design development and construction).
• Analyze project specifications drawings and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers engineers and procurement teams to validate scope and pricing.
• Maintain and update cost databases (Sage Trimble etc.) to ensure accurate benchmarking and historical data.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering recommendations.
• Review subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and completeness.
• Support risk analysis and contingency planning for mechanical estimates.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Construction Management or related field.
• 7 years of experience in mechanical estimating within industrial or commercial construction.
• Proficiency in estimating software and cost databases (Sage Trimble or similar).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems codes and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical biotech or advanced manufacturing projects.
• Familiarity with BIM tools and integration with estimating platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to develop custom estimating templates.
• Professional certifications (e.g. ASPE AACE) are a plus.
