Job Summary
Essential Job Functions:
- Interpret and analyze engineering drawings specifications customer requirements and technical data packages.
- Develop and maintain engineering masters bills of material routings and process documentation for custom fasteners and specialty metal components.
- Assess manufacturability of parts ensuring designs align with USA Fasteners forging machining and secondary processing capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance on materials heat treatment coatings tolerances and quality requirements.
- Apply relevant industry standards (e.g. API ASTM ASME) in the design and production of fasteners.
- Maintain working knowledge of compliance requirements related to engineered fastener manufacturing
- Support customer-facing technical discussions including feasibility requirements clarification and design-for-manufacture proposals.
- Lead the technical portion of the quoting process including cost estimation process flow and manufacturing recommendations.
- Assist in troubleshooting production challenges process deviations and non-conformances with a root-cause mindset.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to engineered product flow tooling process capability and quality requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Materials Engineering or a related discipline required.
- 5 years of experience in engineered fasteners forged metal products precision components or custom metal manufacturing.
- Experience with interpreting engineering drawings specifications GD&T and technical documentation required.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes such as forging machining heat treatment and secondary operations strongly preferred.
- API certification(s) a strong plus.
