About the Team & the Position

Our mission includes facilitating the transition to a net-zero energy system by 2050 working collaboratively with industry partners to achieve 100% renewable generation capability by 2025. We have the once-in-a-lifetimeopportunityto co-design thefutureof ourenergy systems. Within this context AEMO needs a technology uplift to meet the Governments Net Zero commitment and ensure critical national infrastructure is safeguarded via heightened cyber security. This is being done via a significant program of work. This program of work aims to create protected infrastructure and secure networks to meet the needs of the future energy eco-system. This Division is a strategic priority for AEMO and will play a critical role in modernising aspects of the organisation to secure and optimise its future

Reporting to the PMO Manager the Senior Analyst Reporting is a key role within DSE and supports the Program to enable decision making based on key insights from our data driven reports. This position involves developing enhancing and preparing key weekly fortnightly and monthly reports for our internal and external Commonwealth Government stakeholders. The Senior Analyst Reporting assists with generating key insights to ensure successful Program and project delivery to align with DSE organisational and external stakeholder objectives. The Senior Analyst Reporting will work closely with key stakeholders Program managers Project Analysts and senior management to drive consistency efficiency and excellence in project execution.

Position Responsibilities

  • Report and Dashboard Development - Build high quality report templates and dashboards by merging dissimilar datasets to deliver business insights. Data reports will include but not limited to schedule risks financial benefits tracking contracted deliverables action items and personnel and resource reporting.
  • Support the Program Director PMO Manager and Senior Program Manager to drive consistency in reporting to agreed metrics
  • and derive key insights from leading and lagging indicators.
  • Accountable for maintaining data quality within project management tools and systems. Closely work with Project Managers and Senior Project Analysts to ensure all systems and tools are updated on a consistent basis.
  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting Respond to data reporting and insight requests from DSE management and key stakeholders with tight deadlines.
  • Continuous Improvement Actively seek efficiencies and improvements in processes through innovations in data reporting and insights such as integration of disparate data sets into reporting automation and the design and production of improved visual and narrative representations of data and insights.
  • Work closely with out Digital Portfolio Office to ensure consistency with report development and to align to AEMO and Digital standards

Position Requirements

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven professional experience in a similar role in industry or consulting.
  • Highly experienced in visualisation tool development (Power BI and Excel). Knowledge on accounting and financial concepts
  • Comfortable with data preparation and transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Project Management Office or equivalent within a large and complex organisation.
  • Proven well-developed research and problem-solving skills including high level written and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficient with commonly used desktop document management business intelligence tools & systems (MS-Office Applications and other web-based applications).
  • Experience in MS Power Automate Power Apps and Dynamics 365 is preferred.

Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.

Education/ professional Certifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mathematics Technology Finance Economics or related field
  • Advance Certificates in Power BI (Desirable)
