Position Overview
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the efficient handling inspection and documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy ensuring timely delivery of goods and supporting warehouse and supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
Understands and ensures consistent compliance with company policyproceduresand safe work practices
Accurately pack products according to specifications ensure proper labelling for shipping
Load and unload products from trucks ensuring safe handling practices
Operatewarehouse equipment asrequired such as forklift pallet jacks
Maintainorganized work area
Communicate with team members to meet daily packing/shipping deadlines
Conduct quality checks on packed items to ensure they meet company standards
Takes direction well able to produce quality work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Completing required paperwork including outbound B/L AWB and updating SAP
Communicating with customers/carriers and providinga high levelof customer service
Arrange transport of goods between Company warehouses
Assistwith receiving and updating SAP
Other duties as required within the context of the role
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
2 Years experience
Experience in shipping/receiving and/or material handling
- Hands-on experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S standard work or continuous improvement initiatives
Experience using pallet straddlers telehandler and/or forklift
Valid Class 5 drivers license and access to reliable personal transportation
Additional Requirements
Experience in SAP is an asset
Forklift certification is an asset
Willingness to obtain Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook Word and Excel
Interpersonal skills inestablishingand maintaining effective working relationships with others
Excellent organizational time management and multitasking abilities
Sense of urgency with the ability to respond to rapidly changing priorities ina timelyand efficient manner
Ability to follow documented procedures
