The University of Wisconsin-Platteville seeks a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business Management within the School of Business. The position is physically located on the Platteville campus (i.e. non-remote) and will primarily teach introductory advanced undergraduate and graduate management courses. The School of Business highly values versatility among its management faculty; thus candidates with expertise in a specialized domain such as organizational change sustainability human resources or supply chain management are encouraged to apply.
The School of Businesss operating philosophy is exceptional teaching delivered by scholars who possess substantial industry experience. A doctorate degree is not required for hire but will be required to grant tenure.
The desired start date is August 2025. Compensation is $70000 - $77000 per year commensurate with University of Wisconsin System has anationally top ranked retirement planand acomprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities:
Teaching
Teach four courses per semester. Courses are assigned based on the facultys expertise. Areas of specific need include:
Strategic Management
International/Global Business
Leadership & Management
Organizational Behavior
Operations Management
Management Science/Business Analytics
Courses taught may include a combination of undergraduate and graduate courses as well as across multiple modalities such as in-person online or hybrid.
Provide advising to students both within and outside of the classroom regarding their future careers in management.
Scholarly & Professional Activity
Participate in the creation and distribution of scholarly work in alignment with the Boyer Model of Scholarship.
Engage and share expertise with professional associations and organizations.
Service
Engage in service to the university and the business school through formal and ad hoc committees.
What Youll Need to Succeed:
Masters degree in business management or a closely related field.
A doctoral degree must be obtained by Year 5 to qualify for tenure.
Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in area of degree concentration.
Evidence of past contributions to scholarly or professional knowledge.
A strong commitment to undergraduate education and a willingness to collaborate with both students and faculty.
Excellent oral written and organizational communication skills.
