We are partnering with a leading company in the mobility/transportation technology sector to hire a Litigation & Regulatory Counsel. This is a high-impact role within the in-house legal team dealing with a broad range of litigation matters (commercial privacy IP) together with complex regulatory questions in a dynamic business.
You will work closely with Operations Partnerships and Product teams shaping the legal framework for the future of mobility.
Tasks
- Take ownership of the companys litigation portfolio guiding cases from early assessment through to resolution including strategy development discovery management drafting and reviewing filings and directing external counsel.
- Act as the companys representative in settlement discussions mediations and arbitration proceedings aiming for outcomes that balance legal risk and commercial goals.
- Build and refine internal systems templates and workflows that support efficient handling of disputes and regulatory matters across the organisation.
- Advise teams across Operations Partnerships and Product on regulatory questions at municipal state and federal levels offering clear practical guidance.
- Research emerging legal issues tied to the companys evolving business model and help translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Track upcoming legislative and regulatory changes affecting the mobility sector and brief stakeholders on potential impacts.
- Assist with broader legal team work including subpoena responses information requests and ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
- J.D. from a respected law school and licensed to practise in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (New York admission is an advantage).
- At least four years of hands-on litigation experience gained at a law firm in-house team or regulatory/government body.
- Strong communicator who can break down complex legal issues for business teams and write with clarity and precision.
- Comfortable juggling multiple matters at once making sound judgments under time pressure and navigating an environment where priorities shift quickly.
- Highly organised detail-minded and proactive with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
- Additional strengths such as familiarity with mobility/transport tech employment or labour issues insurance defence securities matters or large-scale commercial disputes are all welcome but not essential.
Package
- Salary range: $180000US$200000 depending on experience.
- Equity/variable pay may apply in addition to base salary.
