About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service have a unique opportunity for a Senior Project Officer to work as part of the South Coast team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment flora fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
We are looking for a highly motivated project manager with the initiative ability and desire to work in a small dynamic and productive team. Previous achievement in delivering visitor infrastructure or construction projects within a natural setting or those with remote area logistic challenges will be highly regarded. An understanding of environmental impact assessment processes and public sector knowledge is desirable.
The Senior Project Officer will have a focus on supporting the delivery of major projects in the South Coast Branch including the Illawarra Mountain Bike project.
About You
As a Senior Project Officer you will have a passion for achieving outcomes in a changing and diverse work environment. You will be responsible for obtaining planning approvals managing stakeholder engagement running procurements budget management contract and staff supervision and delivering capital improvement works within required deadlines and to quality standards. Strong attention to detail for governance across safety cultural heritage environment and project management will be key to your success in this role.
Your passion for leading and developing teams will be an asset to the Branch in delivering a complex range of projects. Youll be adept in providing high level specialist advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans budgets timeframes policy environmental objectives and project priorities. You will have the ability to undertake procurement and contract management including contractor supervision of works projects and monitoring of project plans across the project lifecycle.
