Your Tasks
The incumbent is responsible to constantly improve the competitiveness of Beiersdorf in our markets by implementinginnovative high quality packaging and packaging concepts at reasonable costs. The incumbent isaccountable for the development of packaging systems for consumer products with respect to consumer acceptancedesign material functionality and compatibility with formula as well as runability on production lines
Innovation / Pre-innovation projects:
The incumbent ensures that project objectives of high complexity regarding packaging are met in time and in full. For theinnovation management process the incumbent defines the core team member out of his team. For the Pre-innovationmanagement process the project leader is defined out of his team. Within these definitions s/he controls andinsures the corresponding resources of his team. S/he authorises all packing relevant datas and specifications forprocurement planning and identification of primary packaging.S/he is responsible for the market adequate packagingstandardization. The packaging solutions have to be in line with a smooth and cost efficient production processfor BDF PCs 3rd party manufacturer as well as packaging suppliers.
Organisation/Personnel
Lead encouragement and motivation of the personnel in her/his sphere of responsibility.S/he is responsible for targetingcoaching and managing the personnel development in close co-operation with his manager. The incumbentplans the budget in here/his area of responsibility together with his manager and monitors the compliance byregular checks. She/he takes care for the economical efficient use of budget & resources. The incumbent ensures thetransfer of the BDF management approach as well as functional know-how to the teams. S/he supports and takescare for the proactive exchange of expertise between global regional and local corporate organizations.
Interfaces
The incumbent ensures the continuous information flow between all Packaging Development functions (global & regional).S/he provides input to all relevant interfaces for the continuous improvement and further development of our packaging development processes. The incumbent nominates the members of the Packaging Sourcing Team. S/hesupports the development of packaging sourcing strategies and provides the packaging sourcing teams in terms ofpackaging supplier selection process auditing and release of regional/global suppliers within all kind of innovationmanagement projects and strategic decision of the supplier portfolio.
Innovation
The incumbent continuously observes the consumer market as well as the packaging market in order to provide the Preinnovation management process with new and innovative packaging ideas and concepts. S/he deeply understandspackaging related consumer need and behaviour and independently develops new packaging concepts. Theincumbent monitors the patent situation of here/his sphere of responsibility in order to avoid patent furthermore prepares patent applications in order to guarantee best use of exclusivity for BDF.
Quality
S/he is responsible for the implementation of corporate packaging development processes guidelines and standardswithin development projects and monitors their application. S/he is furthermore responsible for the continuousimprovement of the existing processes guidelines and standards.
Your Profile
-University degree in Packaging Engineering
-Minimum of 10 years relevant business experience at an FMCG company (preferably a global player)
-International work experience is a plus
-Strong intercultural competence
-Proven experience in project and process management
-Excellent communication and motivational skills
