Scudamore's Cashier Returner 2025

PLEASE NOTE that in order to allow our current Winter team full priority for shift allocation in the coming weeks we have asked all staff wishing to work over the Christmas period to submit a roster request bySunday November 24th.

After this date roster requests from returning staff will be taken into consideration and will fill the gaps in the roster left by our winter workers.

For those who didnt complete their roster requests by the deadline we are unable to prioritise your roster requestswhich may mean you get less shifts than you need.

If for whatever reason you are unable to complete all roster requests before the deadline yet still intend to work you must inform management via email prior to November 23rd. Please email if this applies to you.

  Hosting and assisting our visitors ensuring they feel looked after and valued.

  Overseeing the hire of craft and the tours rota helping customers with boarding and disembarkation.

  Maintaining a safe working environment for all both on station and on the water.

The returners process

Our training and coaching programme is unique to us and is the gold standard for visitor attractions in Cambridge. Its purpose is to equip our staff with the skills knowledge and confidence which will enable them to give our customers the best possible experience.

With this in mind we induct all returners and assess their cashiering skills for quality purposes before they start working for us again.To ensure were offering our customers the very best service we can you may be asked to complete some additional training and a skills test. This will be decided depending on how long you have been away from the river and your Cashier Grade. This will also need to be completed before you can apply for shifts. Once you have completed your returners form Marcello will be in touch about training.

Special demands of the role

As you will recall this role is physically demanding and requires you to remain on your feet throughout the working day in various weather addition the punting element requires good balance an appropriate level of fitness and basic swimming ability.
