DescriptionThe Finance Business Partner for R&B Business Technology reports to the Head of Strategic Finance for Risk & Broking (R&B) and plays a critical role in supporting both the R&B Finance and Executive Leadership teams. This role provides strategic financial and analytical insight to help shape and execute the short- and long-term goals of the Business Technology function and will be instrumental in shaping strategy and strategic plans supporting execution of key initiatives and tracking performance and success metrics
Acting as a strategic partner to the Global Head of Strategy and Operations Risk and Broking and Head of Business Technology for R&B Globally youll manage financial reporting governance and strategic oversight of R&B technology programs. Your focus will be on driving optimal outcomes maximizing return on technology investments and delivering forward-looking insights to support actionable decision-making.
The Role
Financial management
- Program and finance lead on strategic initiatives that impact R&B globally such as portfolio optimization and rationalization investment opportunities as well as operational improvement initiatives.
- Manage and deliver the overall CRB Technology budget and actuals reporting cycle.
- Work with Strategic Program and BAU budget holders to deliver the plan and achieve financial targets.
- Work with Technology partners and across Finance on issue identification resolution and escalation.
- Identify areas for process improvement and Centre of Excellence ownership to reduce the level of month-end activity.
- Work closely with finance colleagues across the organization and technology budget owners.
Financial forecasting budget tracking and reporting
- Preparation and submission of budgets with Technology and Finance approval.
- Coordination of reporting compared to budget and forecast ability to proactively work with different parties to resolve discrepancies.
- Monthly and quarterly actuals delivery includes month-end close analysis and reporting to a high level of accuracy within deadlines.
- Responsible to ensure FTE and contractor related spend is reconciled tracked and reported correctly.
- Manage balance sheet (accruals deferrals and technology assets) and ensure the correct accounting treatment is in place including asset capitalization and depreciation.
- Identify areas of value creation and cost efficiency in addition to process improvement.
- Support development of the reporting products as WTW Finance continues to evolve
- Other ad hoc activities as required.
Finance governance
- Support Finance and Technology on reporting and sign-off and sign-off requirements.
- Support with R&B Technology reporting to the WTW Investment Committee
- Complete quarterly SOX certificates CIP balances for CRB programs
Responsibilities.
QualificationsThe Requirements:
- Strong Accounting or FP&A background with strong proven experience and ability to apply USGAAP within the business context.
- Financial and Business acumen as evidenced by having roles with progressively broader financial responsibilities
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization and with outside personnel; diplomacy leadership and confidence are important
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey financial messages to senior leadership in a succinct and credible manner
- Must be a hands-on self-starter with the ability to handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work within a matrix organization to collaborate with others across segments and geographies
- Experience of large-scale projects; preferably at the international level working with external partners.
- A self-starter someone who can work independently and navigate a large organization to resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and analytically
- Willingness to learn and develop in a dynamic and highly focused environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to recognize incorrect or inconsistent numbers/reports before they spread any wider and create reputational risk.
- Possess excellent IT / Excel skills and work with advanced models and presentations.
