Education Qualification: Any graduation or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
Position Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL DBA with strong hands-on experience in administering and optimizing PostgreSQL databases across multiple environments. Additional exposure to Oracle or SQL Server will be considered an advantage. The role involves database administration performance tuning automation and supporting migrations in both on-premises and cloud (Azure/AWS) environments.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Administer and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development testing and production environments.
Install configure and upgrade PostgreSQL database servers.
Ensure database security user access management and compliance with best practices.
Manage PostgreSQL PaaS services on Azure.
Perform performance tuning query optimization and capacity planning.
Implement and manage backup restore disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
Execute database and schema refresh activities on on-premises and Azure PaaS services.
Support database migrations and conversions between SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
Collaborate with development teams to design efficient schemas indexes triggers and stored procedures.
Manage tablespaces and roles effectively.
Automate routine DBA tasks using pgAdmin or scripting tools.
Monitor and analyze database performance using tools such as pgstatstatements.
Stay updated with emerging database technologies security patches and industry best practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
At least 2 years of experience managing Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server in production.
Strong command of T-SQL and PL/pgSQL.
Experience with database migration tools (AWS DMS ora2pg pgloader).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure AWS) and managed database services (Azure SQL).
Solid understanding of indexing partitioning and query execution plans.

Technical Skills
Experience working in Linux and Windows Server environments.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of database changes in DevOps workflows.
Familiarity with database monitoring tools.
Certifications in PostgreSQL Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server are a plus.
