Description

The Q. William Hammack School of Business (HSB) at Oglethorpe University invites applications for a full-time faculty member as a Lecturer in Management beginning in Fall 2026. A Lecturer typically teach four courses per semester on a ten-month contract. The Hammack School of Business offers majors in the areas of accounting business administration economics business economics human resource management and management along with minors in nonprofit management and museum studies. The Hammack School launched a new MBA program in fall 2023. Over 25% of all Oglethorpe undergraduates select a major within the HSB making it one of the largest academic units on campus.

Qualifications

A Masters in Management or Business Ph.D. DBA or ADB candidates are welcome. Teaching experience is preferred.

High quality teaching is the expectation at Oglethorpe. The ideal candidate will be able to actively engage a diverse classroom of students using pedagogical techniques and methods appropriate for a teaching oriented liberal arts college. The candidate should be prepared to teach a range of management courses including Principles and Human Resources. Opportunities to teach abroad are also sometimes available.

While teaching is the highest priority the ideal candidate will commit to professional engagement appropriate to stay current in the field of management. Service to the University and HSB is also expected. Service may include mentoring students university and HSB committee assignments and assessment activities.
