Department Manager ()
The Department of Accountancy Economics and Finance in the School of Business offers a variety of undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes and participates in research postgraduate programmes. The Department is now looking for a dynamic and experienced person to manageits General Office and perform administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate academic affairs related to undergraduate courses offered by the Department and courses/programmes jointly offered by the Department and other Schools/Faculties;
- Handle human resourcesmatters including recruitment onboarding contract renewals liaison with part-time lecturers co-ordination of performance reviews and offboarding;
- Handle financial matters including processing approvals on the financial system monitoring the Departmental Research and Teaching Fund processing internal transfers co-ordinating internal audit and overseeing the control and stock-take exercise of the Departments fixed assets;
- Oversee the daily operationsand supervise junior staffof theGeneral Office;
- Coordinate with the programme officestheSchool and University Officeson School-wide and U-wide activities and matters such as the commencement and staff room allocation;
- Organisedepartmental activities and events such as meetingsandretreats;
- Provide secretarial support tothe Departmental Board the Departmental Executive Committee the Departmental Review Panel etc.;
- Compile reports and statistics related to the Departments academic and research activities; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A recognised degree plus at least five years of post-qualification work experience;
- Work experience in tertiary education administration especially at the department level will be a definite advantage;
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
- Good organisational communication and presentation skills; and
- Strong ability to work independently and in a team.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
