JOB SUMMARY


The Senior Director of Operations is a core member of the Hong Kong Macau Taiwan Hainan (HMTH) regional team and is responsible in leading our operational initiatives and drive excellence across our hotel portfolio to achieve organizational goals. Reporting to the Regional Vice President HMTH and dotted line to the Vice President of Operations Greater China you will work closely with the Director of Operations and Openings HMTH (reporting into the position) along with the wider HMTH regional team to develop and implement strategic and operating plans that align with the companys strategic priorities ensuring that the region and properties within your region deliver exceptional service and performance. As a key member of the regional team you will manage the larger strategic business processes and projects setting priorities and measurable objectives for your region. You will respond to complex business requests with innovative solutions that consider the broader impact across departments. Your consultative approach will facilitate the execution of programs that enhance organizational effectiveness and support long-term strategic goals.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required
Bachelors degree and/or 10 years relevant and progressive work experience in the hotel industry with focus in Rooms/ F&B Operations
A professional position requiring significant knowledge and experience in one or more disciplines and/ or business operations as well as associate and/or organizational management experience.
Proven experience in understanding contracts presentation/ public speaking skills International SOPs operations budgets and capital budgets is essential

Preferred
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders to align operational strategies with broader business objectives.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels ensuring alignment and support for operational initiatives.
Proven ability to lead teams through transitions and transformations effectively managing resistance and ensuring successful implementation of new initiatives
Strong project management skills enabling comprehensive and cross market activities handling abilities within the Region

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Develop strategic plans operating plans and workable business processes for your department in alignment with function strategy.
Manages larger strategic business processes and/ or projects set strategic priorities and measurable objectives monitor and report on the direction process progress and results.
Respond to solves and makes decisions on business requests that have broader department and cross-department impact and/ or moderate risk. Present alternative strategic solutions to business issues by leveraging the broader organization.
Take responsibility and accountability for your work and the teams work in contributing to team department and/or business results. May involve direct work of non-management staff and typically influences work of cross-functional or extended teams.
oAssist the Regional Vice President and other senior associates in achieving business results aligning operational objectives and adhering to the strategic plans to achieve overall business goals
oAct in a consultative fashion to execute and implement programs impacting the broader organization and to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the programs in achieving strategic long term goals
oAssist in the strategic development of broader organizational goals.
oAchieve results against budget within scope of responsibility and to ensure alignment with strategic plans.
oTake calculated risks to advance the department or team to support the strategic priorities.
oDevelop and use systems to organize information to synthesize results and to balance the interests of own group and interests of the organization.
oManages relationships with stakeholders at all levels including owners and external partners
oWork with others to identify and remove barriers to success.
oLead Regional and Continent Operations initiatives for the Region
Rooms Operations ensure hotel management teams successfully and effectively implements all initiatives & programs and to closely track GuestVoice ranking and Marriott Bonvoy active enrollments against regionals goal and Greater China goal respectively.
Food & Beverage Operations ensure hotel management teams successfully and effectively implements all initiatives & programs and to ensures property teams are fully fluent in all food safety procedures and direct certification classes as required to meet needs of the region. Quality Assurance ensure all hotels understand and comply with company brand standards the International Quality Assurance Program and are renovation compliant. Drive the region F&B outlets strategy: Recommend to RVP and work with AGMs for pull through. Lead the work with all yellow and red zone hotels in the region for brand standards audits and GSS. Ensure brand standards are in place at all hotels.
New Openings/ Conversions ensure critical path is followed and the pre-opening checklist is completed in a timely manner.
Food and Beverage Concepts assist hotel management with the execution of restaurant/ bar concept documentation to ensure concept integrity and significantly improve guest experience revenues and profits. Actively involved in all renovation projects.
Crisis Management - respond to complex or ambiguous situations without losing focus of key hotel objectives and strategic priorities.
Continuously attract develop and retain diverse high-caliber talent that makes a strong positive impact on the organization and to collaborate with HR to identify key competencies create succession plans and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Coordinate task force(s) as needed for respective properties.
Frequent in market visits to ensure pull through and improvements are taking place across the Region
Foster in market activities and campaigns with hotels team not only pull trough of centrally funded campaigns
Stay focused to discipline priorities within each market of the Region.
Strong support to Area General Managers to drive the Operations KPIs across the Region
Together with the RVP consistently recognize and reward outstanding associate performance in improving the regions hotels performance and/ or customer satisfaction.
