The Commercial Finance Business Partner will play a pivotal role in driving strategic decision-making. They will act as the bridge between finance commercial and operational teams providing insightful analysis financial guidance and performance support to help shape business outcomes. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced collaborative environment with a responsibility to influence senior stakeholders.
The Role at a Glance
Location: Slough Trading Estate Slough SL1 4AY (some travel required)
Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to 80000
What Youll Be Doing
- Lead budgeting forecasting and performance tracking for regulated and commercial activities
- Analyze cost drivers asset performance and service delivery metrics to identify efficiency opportunities
- Develop financial models for capital investment asset lifecycle planning and regulatory submissions
- Support pricing strategies and contract negotiations with commercial clients
- Monitor regulatory compliance impacts on financial performance and advise on mitigation strategies
- Deliver clear actionable insights to non-finance stakeholders through dashboards and presentations
- Contribute to sustainability and innovation initiatives by evaluating financial viability and ROI
What Were Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in commercial finance financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and business partnering ideally within utilities infrastructure or environmental services
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to the water and waste industry (e.g. Ofwat Environment Agency) and their financial implications
- Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data and drive strategic insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools including Microsoft Excel; experience with business intelligence platforms (e.g. Power BI Tableau) is advantageous
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA ACCA CIMA) or equivalent experience
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to sustainability operational excellence and continuous improvement
