The role
As a Transport Driver youll be a vital part of our operations supporting the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) contract. Youll provide safe and reliable transport services for personnel and equipment helping ensure the smooth running of military training exercises and operations. This is a hands-on role where your skills and commitment will directly contribute to national defence and your own career development.
Day-to-day youll be:
- Driving eligible personnel and equipment to and from training exercises and military duties
- Operating a range of vehicles including PSV and LGV fleet
- Supporting departmental admin tasks and delivering stores across site
- Travelling up to 1.5 hours from site and performing manual tasks such as lifting and using tools
- Completing vehicle checks before during and after use
This role is full time 37 hours per week Monday to Thursday 08:0016:30 and Friday 08:0016:00 and is based onsite at Minley. Overtime is available and flexibility may be required for earlier or later starts.
Essential experience of the Transport Driver
- Practical experience maintaining roadworthiness of vehicles
- Strong understanding of drivers hours regulations (JSP800 Vol 5 or EU regulations)
- Experience in load restraint and load safety
Qualifications for the Transport Driver
- Full UK Driving Licence with minimum Category C
- Driver CPC and Tacho card
- Any necessary training or qualifications will be fully funded by Babcock
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
